“I love the myth of the Pegasus and this is such an exciting project and I love the scale of it. I hope it’s going to look like something beautiful from another world.”

The centrepiece to the restaurant, and in keeping with the Caprice style is Pegasus, a piece of artwork by Damien Hirst. The 24ft crystal encrusted statue has a 30ft wingspan and will soar over diners with hooves lifted, while an East facing aspect floods the space with natural light.

Pegasus, the mythical creature, who, according to ancient legend, sprang from the blood of Medusa’s neck, has featured a number of times in Hirst’s practice, most notably in the 2011 bronze sculpture with anatomical cross-section, Legend, and in his Winged Horse sculpture in Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable (2017).
